A Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate is required for:
1 – an addition to an existing circuit
2 – an alteration to an existing circuit
A typical alteration that this certificate might be used for is the addition of a lighting point or socket outlet to an existing circuit.
It is a legal requirement to complete a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (commonly called a ‘Minor Works Certificate’ ) or an ‘Electrical Installation Certificate’ for any electrical work being carried out on a domestic installation.
